The Starbucks Banned Mermaid Cigar Band Logo Mug

Now available for purchase in my store is the famous (or infamous if you listen to the cable news shows) banned mermaid logo mug...not much controversial as near as I can tell but Starubucks did abandon this logo for something less revealing and a bit more generic.  Still and all great fun! Check it out and keep jittering!  Available at leftcoastjitters.ecrater.com

Amazon's New Kindle Another Glowing Review

If you enjoy reading, but feel that ebook readers have fallen far short of the mark, then check out the expensive but worthy new KINDLE.  Anymore, it is rare for me to get excited by new tech toys but this one has my Jitter meter hopping!  The display is readable in daylight, just like a book!  No back-light glare. Text you can size according to your comfort level.  And the kicker....Whisper-net.  You can order whatever book Amazon has available on the Kindle store, download it without a computer, and just get on to the reading of the book.  It is light, the size of a trade paperback and I am an enthusiastic early adopter.  The only downside right now is the availability and price.  Once you get past the price (assuming you do) and you place your order, it will be a while before it shows up. (Mine took a month or so...not too bad but still not fast in a fast paced world...well worth the wait.)

Check it out....give it some thought.  Carrying around 70 pounds of books in a small package (under a pound) is a wonderful idea and the Kindle is the best Ebook reader yet!

Post Card of the Week: Washington State Ferry Kalakala "The Silver Slug" March 8 2008

This week the featured postcard is a real photo post card, (RPPC) titled "Streamlined Ferry Kalakala--Seattle, WA." On the back it says it is from 1947.  The Kalakala, or "Silver Slug" as it was known in my family at least, was quite a sight to see lumbering across Elliot Bay to or from the Coleman Dock.  The times I was on it, I remember that it seemed to shake alot!  But it was so different, it was fun to watch from the Seattle Waterfront.  Very "art deco" in its design, it was had its maiden voyage in July of 1935and retired from service as a Washington State Ferry in 1967 after a long a colorful run.  She has come to rest in Tacoma, and has a loyal following.  (There is a lot of wonderful information to be found on the internet, including some great pictures...just google Kalakala!)

Post Card of the Week Bobo as a Baby

Woodland Park Zoo has always been a favorite of Seattle folk, both young and old.  One of the biggest draws to the Zoo in the old days was a gorilla with some major attitude...Bobo.  The powers that were wanted to use him to breed.  They imported a "friend" for him...Fifi.  The two of them could do the most amusing things with watermelons!  They never did breed.  Why?  Well, it is a fun story (and one not often told...a little Internet research will get you the answer!)Bobo_worlds_fair_zoo_postcard_02_3

This card is available for sale at my  store,LeftCoastJitters.  Have Fun and Keep on Jittering!Bobo_worlds_fair_zoo_postcard_02__2

Several Lattes Later.......

Still working on the blogging thing....and since it is rather sparce around here, I thought I would give some information about one of my favorite little programs...services, that makes life easier....JOTT.  If you haven't heard of it, maybe it is because you were too busy.  That is perfect!

I have been using Jott for several months and love it!  The transcriptions aren't always perfect (but neither are mline) but the service is a wonderful time saver and one of the most useful services out there.  Additionally, it is FREE.  Yep, free.  Priced well below what it is worth.

So, while I jitter on check out JOTT.  You won't be sorry!
